Antioxidant alkaline water benefits in Cancer When the blood becomes acidified it becomes thicker and is able to transport less oxygen and nutrients to the cells. When the cell becomes deprived of oxygen it either dies or adapts to this oxygen deprived environment by becoming malignant. Cancer cells can live in this oxygen deprived environment because they obtain their energy from fermentation, a process that is carried on without oxygen.
